I guess like most affiliates I’ve got a bit of an addiction to buying domain names. With my main focus being on two sites, I’ve managed to cut down on the domains I’ve been buying as one of the mistakes I made when starting out was doing a half-arsed job on a load of sites rather than a decent job on just one or two sites.
Having said that, I did find a few good exact match domains the other day which I found myself buying. I guess I figured I could develop a few of them a little further down the road … and if I don’t get round to it, then I’m sure I could sell them and let someone else get on with the job.
Anyway, I ended up buying jacksorbettervideopoker.net, casinopokergames.org and casinokeno.org.
I then happened to stumble across a post on PAL and ended up buying playrummyonline.net as I’ve been curious about Rummy for a while, and I figured that if I was going to give it a shot, that that was as good a domain as any with which to try.
So that’s four new domains for me this week. There’s nothing really up on any of them at the moment other than a default WP theme and a few pages of content to help with aging, but I’m quite pleased with them … even if I should be controlling my addiction rather than fueling it.

Good to see you have a blog now Simon. If you want a suggestion for the Keno site – focus on localized Keno. Focus on the demographic of Keno players that don’t play Keno online, and don’t even consider it. Latest Keno lottery numbers, Keno legislation in specific states, where to play Keno in _____(insert city, state, province, county here) etc etc.
Then focus on trying to turn that market into online Keno. I don’t think enough people do this, but based on my stats I think there is a good market for it. Just be sure to keep it uber-K.I.S.S. for obvious reasons.
Hey Graeme – thanks for stopping by … much appreciated!
Thanks for the tip too. I really need to get to grips with the Keno market. It’s not something I know a whole lot about at the moment, but knowing one sort of direction to head in is a huge help.
Hope all’s well with you – still trying to figure out how a 50yr old can win the Scottish player of the year
Great to see you finally got this up and running. Even better that Chelsea are winning and Liverpool suck balls.
How are you finding the Thesis theme? What kind of things are you going to be blogging about on here?
You don’t know how tempted I was to edit that first line of your post
Yeah, still getting to grips with the Thesis theme, but it seems pretty cool. The blog’s going to try and serve two purposes: firstly, it’s a place for me to put my own thoughts on the affiliate industry and what I’m up to and various things that I’ve found useful- maybe some people will find that helpful.
It’s also designed to keep me on track to go solo at the end of the year though. So I want it to be somewhere, where I can post up goals and report back on how well each of them are going.
David N’Gog is going to crush you at the weekend …
